So my baby is now a big girl.
*sigh*
When I dropped her off this morning her old PRE-K teacher Mrs. Byrd came up to say hello. Makily got so excited when she saw her, it immediately made me cry.
What can I say, I was on the verge of tears all morning anyway.
I kissed and hugged her bye after getting her strapped into her wheelchair.
Then I got in the van and bawled all the way home.
It's hard to let go and let your baby grow up. That was killing me but it was hard to look at her in that damn wheelchair on her first day of kindergarten. Oh how I have dreamed of her running into her classroom excited and ready for her first day of school.
I HAVE DREAMED OF THAT....she hasn't.
Makily was happy as a clam this morning and so I am happy for her.
They said she had a great day and there were no problems at all.
She has her own little student planner.
I love this kid.

AWESOME!! GO Makily!!! Now, QUICK Trish, go shopping with just one kiddo in tow!
Love the shoes!!! She looks very happy.
Wow Makily, what a big girl! Kindergarten!! :) Those shoes are too cute.
I hope her first day was great Mama.
You're gettin' there sweetheart, I love the positive attitude. Just do what you're doing and remember that even though you mourn all the things she may never do (and that's okay), she doesn't. She thinks she is perfect just the way she is.. and she's right :)
You have an awesome kid, such a beauty.
Hi! I just found your blog and read your story, and I have to say, Makily is just beautiful. It looks like she has accomplished some pretty amazing things in the last 5 years, and going to Pre-K is a huge and wonderful step! I, too, have to step back from some of the hopes and dreams I had for my daughter at each missed milestone, but know she'll do what she wants to do when she wants to do it. I'll bookmark to visit again.
Hoping all is well, missing those Makily smiles!
I lost you! And now I have found you on accident by searching "nissen retching". LOL
I can NOT believe how big Makily has gotten! She is as beautiful as ever.
We've had some issues lately... thus the search about retching. Maybe one day I'll have time to update the blog.
Take care! Lisa (A New Monkey, William's Mama)
