Dear Apria,
This afternoon after a long day of appointments and running around with my kids, I was relieved to see a small box from your company on my doorstep. I was thankful that FINALLY after ALL YOU PUT ME THROUGH in the last couple of weeks, I had the extension tubes I so DESPERATELY needed in order to FEED MY CHILD!!! I was almost joyful about it.
Well my relief and joy was short lived.
I opened the package and quickly realized something very ANNOYING.
I could feel my blood pressure go through the roof.
You sent the WRONG EXTENSIONS.
YOU SENT THE WRONG EXTENSIONS...YES THE WRONG ONES.
THESE DO NOT FIT YOU SORRY EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING.
What really BURNS me up is that you sent the VERY extensions that I told you SEVERAL times WERE NOT THE CORRECT ONES.
Please know that I will be calling your office in the morning...and I feel incredibly sorry for the poor chump that gets my call.

I had a couple of questions from readers I figured I would answer here:
1. Maklily's AMT button is an 18fr 1.7 cm.
2. IT IS NOT one of the AMT models that we can use Mic-Key extensions with. I was hopeful it was, but alas it is not. I have tried....believe me. The part that hooks into her button is too fat and seems shorter.
3. I had not heard of the AMT clamp but I am on a mission to find one and get one!
4. The exact name of her button as written on the box is: AMT Mini Balloon Button.
What I ended up doing is yanking off the med port/feed port peice off one of the new extensions (which I wasnt sure you could do...but now know I can). Then I yanked off the med port/feed port off the old extension. That really was the part that was making the tubing slide out because it's been used to much it's stretched out. I put the new piece on the old tube and it's working for now.

It's sad I have to rig my kid's feeding tube with parts and pieces to feed her.
Such is life.

Trish, did you get my e-mail ?? The extensions I have say; right angle feeding set with Y port for use with mini one skin level G tubes.
It says AMT in big letters on top.

hmmm....I have just seen those crazy extensions...they are very different and the tubing *in my opinion* is very big...kinda weird.
ANYHOW...here is the link my friend...for the clamp. I did not have a # when I ordered mine...I just said I want that clamp!

I am so sorry you are having to deal with this...it's no wonder we have gray hair...and high blood pressure!
I don't know it it will help with the stupidity issue, but when you order future buttons, ask for the Amt Mini One balloon button. The "mini one" is the button that can use mic-key extensions. Sounds like you have the regular amt mini and not the mini one. The people at Apria will still be stupid, but at least you'll have more options with extension sets. Amt does make a clamp and it's a wonderful thing. Call and get one.
It's too bad you don't live closer to Orlando. We live near Sanford/Geneva area and we use Children First home medical. They are wonderful and actually care about my childs needs. I call to place a supply order and It's often there the next day. If they have to get it to us right away they send a driver. They..are..awesome.
I don't know if they service your area.

What a mess! Blayne has done this to an extent before so we keep him in one piece pjs. I have to comment on the posts below and your button issue. I also have to second that I hate Apria. I have to tell you again, GET AN ELF BUTTON! You will not regret it. We have used it for probably a year now and love it. We haven't had hardly any problems. The Mickeys we used for 2+ years were a mess!! We don't have any experience with the ATM button though. Email me or PM me on P2P (Mom2Blayne) if you want me to give you the information on how to get an ELF.
Trish, I feel your pain. That is the problem we had with the AMT Mini one buttons. We used the mic-key extensions in the button. If it isn't turned away from the locking mechanism, it comes out and you are feeding everything but your baby!! It is quite annoying. We ended up switching to Mic-Key buttons again. We have some extra Mini One buttons (12 Fr, 1.5cm) or, if you want to take them just to use the extensions..I can send them to you! Apria should be ashamed of themselves. I pretty much stay on the phone until they do something for me. I get that person's manager and then when that person says no, I throw out the line "you are our daughters supplier of medical equipment, if you cannot supply this tubing that I need for her and something happens to her your company will be at fault!" lol...most of the time, they listen to this!! :-D I hope this week is easier!
