Baby boy is sick.
He has been spiking HIGH temps and he had a dr visit yesterday.
He wants to be snuggled which is fine by me but he is really running hot.
I am giving him Tylenol/Motrin every four hours. It's helping some.
He insisted on taking about six showers today. I tried putting him in the tub and it was a no go, he would only tolerate a shower with me holding him. He would just lay there on me with the water running over us.
So I sat in the FREEZING shower with the little turd half the day.
He has not napped or slept well so I am TIRED.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better for all of us.

Hi! I have been following your blog for some time now since my husband and I are (nearly) licensed foster parents waiting for our first placement. Sorry to hear J is sick...poor guy. The things us mothers do, huh? I've been praying for you guys and hope that everything works out with his case. :)

Oh trish. Im sorry you're going through this crap. Isaac is so sick right now too. Im just hoping we dont catch it. HEs in terrible shape, hurling chunks and all...
Sorry, I made a typo in my old post! Here we go again...
Hi :-) I am here to save you from freezing showers, and move you to lukewarm ones, lol. Our ped made us promise not to do cold baths for fevers, because he explained that cold baths cause the body to shiver, which is a natural way of raising the body's temperature (thus extending the fever). Fever baths (according to him) should be just slightly warm, but not cold. I don't know if that helps at all (and heck, who am I to say what helps, as I sit her sick and with the chills...) but regardless I hope Baby J gets better soon!
Oooh ooh - I like Natalie's suggestion - I hope J is feeling better you prune! love you, s
Our pediatric group says you can alternate Tylenol & motrin every 3 hrs, instead of 4. That way the motrin doses are still 6 hrs apart from each other. And, of course, so are the Tyl doses, which is more than plenty for that med. Just in case you need it again!
Oh, and a friend had a problem with her son's mickey button balloons not lasting but a couple of months, so after the supply company charged her $200 per replacement, instead of getting a doctor letter to request insurance consider that the button didn't last, she contacted the company that makes the buttons, and they sent her a free replacement ... since the button was flawed and didn't last at least 6 months. Maybe you can do that in the future?
